Myself

Hi there,

My name is Diana, I'm an English teacher and a student at URP. I've been working in my company since 2015 and I've grown to love my profession since then.

A little bit about myself: Even though I've been living in Peru for the past 17 years (almost 18) I'm not Peruvian. Nevertheless, this country has been my home for more than half of my life and I'd defend it as much as I would my own.

I finished 4th and 5th year here and the I went to university, but failed miserably when I realized I was not in love with my career of choice. I'd always wanted to work with languages, but I didn't know what professions would allow me to practice them. So, the decision was kind of made for me when my grandmother adviced me to take Tourism Management (because according to her the job opportunities were plentiful in that area) and destiny more or less played its hand when I passed the School Exam to enter to USIL without an Entry Exam.

After my disastrous last cycle, I decided to leave university and change careers, so I began Translation and Interpretation at URP (my real calling finally answered). However, it didn't last long because of some financial problems in my family. Afterwards, I started working at odd jobs, then restaurants, etc.

No matter the hardships, I'm now very happy with what I'm doing and looking forward to what the future is going to bring me.

That's all for now!

Flipped Classroom

Just flip it! What is the meaning of flipping a classroom? Is it turning it upside down? Or is it letting chaos rule? The answer is bellow. Schools are used to teachers presenting their lesson in regular way: in class with students sitting at their desks "paying attention" and writing in their notebook the homework they have to do for next class. So, why not flip it? Why not be a little disruptive and change it all. This is where Flipped Classroom comes in. I will give you some ideas that describe the benefits of this technique. 1  Have you ever wondered why most of your students don't do their homework? Or they hand it in incompletely? Well, this is because they usually see complex concepts in class and don't quite understand them, so they go home with a half-eaten idea of what they have to do and they get stuck, unable to complete the task. Flipped classroom helps in this case by providing the afore mentioned concepts first in their house, allowing them to

Blended Learning

As you might have noticed, today's classroom is quite different from before with the chalk blackboards and the vinyl slides to present in class. Now, we have easier ways for teachers to present their class and for students to learn and be engaged in the lesson. Such ways are connected with technology... What we must look forward to is the combination of traditional learning with technology, this is called Blended Learning. Use every piece of technology to enhance the class. Let's look at this from a historical point of view in the picture below Furthermore, there are some considerations to be had: 1   The Role of Live Interaction: We have to evaluate how necessary is to be face-to-face with the students. 2   The Role of Learner Choice and Self-Regulation: We need to consider how much the students are guided when we choose the type of blended learning. 3  Models for Support and Training: It's all about supporting everyone involved in the learning process and p
